Human Computer Interaction
Virtual RealityThe group’s research refers to Computer Graphics, HCI, CAD/CAM, Discrete Computer Geometry and so on. They mainly focus on theories and technologies of CSCW in virtual 3D design, fast 3D modeling, Point Clouds Processing, Non-Photorealistic Rendering of Artisitc Patterns; Digital Watermark,Web-Based Manufacturing etc. The group has built up application platforms for human heritage protection, digital design and manufacturing, interactive education and entertainment.
Geometric Design and Image Information Processing
The group has been carrying on the research on geometric design and computing, computer graphics, information visualization, image processing and so on. The main research includes the algorithms and theories of geometric design, the construction and modification of curves and surfaces, digital human project and visualization, figure-print recognizing, image processing and so on. This Group has obtained important results in the study on the modification method of curves and surfaces, constrained curve and surface design, data points parametrization, constructing C-2 Quartic Spline Surface Interpolation。
Technology of intelligent computing
The theory research is carried on in a group of the School. Their research refers to computer algorithms, complexity theory, Bioinformatics as well as Chinese character processing. Now their research mainly focuses on computational biology, computer networks and Chinese character processing. The research on the key technology in implementing distributed software is also carried out in the group.
Software and data engineering
The group’s major research is database theory and application. The interests include three directions. First is workflow technology research, second is XML and data query process, third is application integration and information integration based on semantic. These three directions provide strong backup of theories and technologies for developing information systems based on Internet.
Information Security
The School has a group with the interest in public key cryptography and its application. Their research refer to public key encryption, digital signatures, key establishment and management, access control, PKI and provable security of protocols etc. Their recent research focuses on distributed cryptography, digital signatures and provable security of protocols. The group has obtained the research achievements in terms of elliptic curve cryptography, threshold cryptography, and signature schemes with specific properties.
Mobile Computing and Application Techniques
The group works on the Architecture of Mobile Computing, Mobile Agent Cooperative Theory such as the methods of self-organization, self- coordination, self-adaptation and self-recovery etc., Mobile Computing Reliability, Mobile Computing Security and Mobile Agent Learning. The research on Migrating Workflow theory and technology was paid special attention in recent years and will be continuing supported by National Science Fund of China. The Migrating Learning theory and the construct method of software agent based on the biology growth model are their other important research.
Parallel and Network Computing
The research on parallel and network computing is carrying on in a group of the School. The research focus on semantic web, knowledge management, ontology, information and multimedia retrieval, knowledge artifact organization as well as the cognitive support for information/knowledge retrieval from both knowledge bases and the Internet. The group also studies the algorithms on problems solving in various parallel environments and theory in network optimization, network protocols and models and performance evaluation.
Grid Computing
The School has a group of researchers in grid computing, with interests in the system architecture of grids, application oriented resource management, the job schedule and job balance in the grid environments and the supervision mechanism for tasks and resource locating on the computers of grid with different system architecture. They also study the storage and management for huge data set, the security police and system.
